How does 3D Secure work?
• Shop online at any 3D Secure enabled website
• Enter your BoK Digital Mastercard details such as card number, card expiry and CVC at the time of checkout. The online store will route the information to MasterCard.
• MasterCard Identity Check Confirmation, will show “MasterCard SecureCode” logo and BoK’s name & logo. You will receive One Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number & email address
• Upon submission, your transaction will be processed and you will receive a confirmation SMS

What is 3D Secure?
3D Secure Service, powered by “MasterCard SecureCode”, adds an additional layer of security when you use your BoK Digital Mastercard for internet-based transactions. It provides you added protection from unauthorized internet-based transactions as it requires a One Time Password (OTP) that is sent to your registered mobile number & email address when you make any transactions on 3D Secure enabled websites.

What is One Time Password (OTP)?
One Time Password (OTP) is a 06 digit online verification code sent to your registered mobile number and email address to complete an internet-based transaction.

Which BoK Digital Mastercard is 3D Secure enabled?
The 3D Secure Service is available on all BoK Digital Mastercards.

Can I perform Internet Based Transactions on websites which are non 3D Secure enabled?
Yes, you can perform transactions on non 3D Secure websites. However, for non 3DS enable website you will not go through the OTP authentication process.

How much will I be charged for the 3D Secure service?
This service is free of charge

How do I register for 3D Secure?
Registration is not required for 3D Secure. All BoK Digital Mastercard cardholders who have registered their mobile numbers and email address with BoK can avail this facility. However, Basic Credit Cardholder needs to be enrolled for SMS alerts service in order to conduct a 3D Secure enabled internet-based transaction. Therefore, ensure that your mobile number and email address is updated in BoK system.

Do I need to call BoK Helpline to activate the e-Commerce facility on my BoK Digital Mastercard?
You can activate/ deactivate the e-Commerce facility through BoK Digital.

OTP Generation and Authentication

How long is an OTP valid for?
An OTP stays valid for 10 minutes from the time of generation after which it expires. In case OTP expires, the transaction will need to be reinitiated.

Will I receive an OTP for all my internet-based transaction?
You will receive an OTP for internet-based transaction on 3D Secure enabled websites. However, for non 3DS enable website you will not go through the OTP authentication process.

What should I do if I do not receive my OTP?
Press the Resend OTP button or the transaction just needs to be cancelled and re-initiated.

What happens if I have entered an invalid OTP?
Your transaction will be cancelled and you will have to reinitiate the transaction with a new OTP.

Which Internet Browsers do I need to use for 3D Secure?
Any compatible web browser such as Internet explorer, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari can be used for 3D Secure transactions. Please ensure that you have enabled pop-up windows in your browser in order to complete your payment with 3D Secure transactions.

How will I know if the website is safe to use?
Look for secure transaction symbols when shopping online to ensure your account information is protected. These include a lock symbol usually found on the right or left side of your browser’s address bar and a web address that begins with “https”.
Always sign out of any website after you make a purchase. If you can’t sign out, close the browser window and clear your browser’s cache and history to prevent unauthorized access to your account information. Certified merchants can be identified by the logo “MasterCard SecureCode” on the merchant’s website.

How can I differentiate normal internet-based transactions from those made on a 3D Secure enabled website?
“MasterCard SecureCode” logo will be displayed if you are performing an internet-based transaction on a 3D Secure enabled website. On a non 3D Secure transaction you will not receive an OTP and you will not get MasterCard 3D Secure Logo on payment form.

Will I be notified once the transaction is processed?
Yes you will be notified via SMS/Email, once the transaction is processed.

What should I do if I suspect that information on my BoK Digital MasterCard is compromised or has been used to make fraudulent purchases?
Please call BoK helpline at 091-111-265-265 immediately and report the same.

Can I raise a dispute in case any fraudulent transaction happens on e-com with my BoK Digital Mastercard?
Yes you may raise a dispute by calling BoK helpline at 091-111-265-265.

If I make a transaction on a non 3DS website, will my card data get compromised?
In order to ensure safety you must use your BoK Digital MasterCard online with great caution and only use your BoK Digital MasterCard on a reliable websites. BoK is monitoring your transactions and ensures that a fraudulent attempt is blocked as soon as it is identified.

Will I be refunded in case a fraudulent transaction occurs on my Bok Digital Mastercard?
Once it is confirmed through our investigation that a fraudulent transaction did infact occur and the dispute was raised timely, we will assist you with your refund.
